Car Show DJ
My Car Show DJ/Entertainer package (sometimes
free) is all inclusive yet transparent and trouble free to you. I bring all my own equipment, water and power (whisper generator).
What I charge. I have done car shows for free and I have also charged $500 for large multi-day car
shows. It just depends on what you and I can agree upon. I think that’s fair.
After spending many years in the military working with mostly weapons
and explosives, I am now able to follow my true love of music and providing fun times for people. My music library has
been gathered over 35 years and always growing. I carry around 60,000 songs with me on computer and CD. When
I DJ a Car Cruise, I play mostly oldies, but as in my past car shows, I take requests from cruise attendees. I play
to the crowd and give the people what they want.
I am a Gear Head myself and have
my own 1978 Trans Am show car. I always carry a clipboard full of
automotive trivia which is always a big hit for show sponsors wanting to advertise and give away merchandise with company
logos, etc.
I don't just play music, I work very closely with the show sponsor
to ensure complete success for all
concerned.
Many inexperienced car show DJs use too small speakers and don't raise the speakers high enough.
TIP: I have many amps and 10", 12",
15" speakers and 18" sub woofers. The same 12" inch speakers that kick good inside a bar or club
will not project very well out doors. I use at a minimum 15" speakers
out doors to ensure I have satisfactory sound pressure level (SPL). I will also use sub woofers if the venue requires.
When I do car shows, I raise my speakers up to the maximum height. When the speakers are low, a few things happen. The cars and people absorb, block and redirect music and announcements. When speakers are too low, the volume must be turned down so the people close
to the announce booth don't get blown away, yet many others don't even hear the music and announcements.
When the speakers are up high many more people are hearing clear (not loud) music and announcements. In some cases,
I will use four speakers for “omni directional” music
and announcements. It’s not about watts, it is about the correct equipment matching and speaker placement.
