2) Knowing how to read the crowd and being able to adjust to it as needed.

3) Having Hi-end equipment as well as a back up sound system, because the show must go on.

4) Knowing that the customer comes first and demonstrating patience, understanding and respect.

5) A DJ does not disrespect another DJ by speaking ill of that DJ.

6) No dead air even while multi-tasking. Dead air is a mood killer.

7) Knowing how to control the crowd even during a fight or other emergency.

8) Being reliable, on time or ahead of schedule.

9) Working well with and helping staff members to achieve a common goal of entertainment success.

10) Being able to surprise people with games and other activities.

These are just my top ten, there are more qualities a great DJ/Entertainer must posses.
